Rick Crawford U.S. Representative (R-AR), Chair of House Intelligence Committee CNBC
Post-Maduro Venezuela offers outside investment opportunities.
Venezuela has vast mineral wealth but has suffered from corruption and poor infrastructure. Now that Maduro has been removed, the speaker sees considerably more opportunities for outside investment to modernize infrastructure and help the Venezuelan people benefit from their resources, though rooting out corruption remains a big question.

Charles Meyers Founder & CEO, Signum Global Advisors CNBC
Venezuela is a massive multi-sector opportunity.
Venezuela represents a massive multi-sector investment and infrastructure opportunity that could total as much as $500 billion over the next decade. The post-Maduro transition is better compared to Eastern Germany in the 1990s or Hungary and Poland's communist-to-capitalist transitions than to Iraq. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves and the U.S. is deeply invested in its success; Myers thinks investors are too pessimistic. He expects security guarantees from U.S. military presence and a U.S. government backstop for private capital as sanctions lift and debt/equity markets reactivate, and he is planning a March trip with investors, multinationals, and asset managers.
